How much is the deposit to reserve my wedding date?
A 30% deposit is due at the signing of the contract, which secures your date. The remaining balance is due on or before your wedding date.
Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee?
We are located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, which is just outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A travel fee may apply if your wedding is more than an hour away. The fee is decided upon before the contract is signed, and is determined on a case by case basis.
What is the turnaround time for our wedding videos?
The timing depends on the package. If a highlight is included in your wedding package, it is typically uploaded to our Vimeo page in 3-4 weeks, and the rest of the package, including any DVDs or Blu-rays are completed and shipped within 3-4 months after the wedding.
Will you definitely be the ones filming our wedding?
If you book your wedding with C&K Cinematography, your lead cinematographer will either be Christian, Krista, or our business partner Cody. The second cinematographer will either be one of the three of us, or one of our colleagues in the area that we work with regularly on other projects. If extenuating circumstances come up at the last minute, we have trusted colleagues we could call to step in to film the wedding, and we would still edit the films. This would only be a last resort, and so far has never happened.
Will you coordinate with our photographer?
Yes, we would like to know who your photographer is before the wedding, so that we can view their website and in some cases contact them. We will be working closely with them throughout your wedding day to make sure that we both capture everything without getting in each other's way. We always give the photographer the lead and let them have priority on shot positions and ideas. They have to capture perfect singular images whereas we can capture many hours of video footage and edit out the shots that don't work. Therefore, we want the photographer to have priority and stay out of their way.
How many weddings do you shoot on a typical weekend?
We only shoot one wedding in any given day. We will not schedule any other shoots or appointments on the same day as your wedding. It will be our only focus for that entire day. Typically, we do not shoot more than one wedding in a weekend, unless there is a day between the weddings, such as a Friday and Sunday.
What type of equipment do you have? Do you have a backup camera on hand for the event?
We always bring three cameras to events. One for each of us to use, and one for backup, or for use as a third camera during the ceremony. We use DSLRs to capture weddings because they are portable, customizable and provide high quality HD footage. We have two Canon 7Ds and one Canon 5d Mark III. We use tripods, a slider and shoulder mounts to stabalize the cameras. We have three audio recorders - one that can plug into an audio mixer (if you have a DJ or other sound system) and two lav mics that clip on to the groom and officiant for ceremony audio. We also have lights, but we try to only use natural lighting as light stands can get in the way and are not very portable. We have many lenses and other accessories, but try to only bring things that will fit into two small backpacks so that we can run around with our equipment to various locations easily.
